Welcome to Kindred Spirits!!!
Kindred Spirits was founded in November of 2005 by a group of like minded individuals coming together to play Dungeons & Dragons Online. They shared experiences with previous guilds and layed out what their thoughts of an ideal guild should be.
Things like being respectful and courteous to any and all players, sharing of loot and resources, having a community spirit, and working as a team to explore and enjoy everything a game has to offer. This became the foundation of the guild Kindred Spirits. We continue in our search for other gamers like us to become a part of our community and enjoy the games we play to the best of our abilities.
General Information
- Participate! Vote on applications, partake in discussions that interest you, join guild events. You may be surprised on how much more actively participating with guild mates can enhance your enjoyment of a game.
- Once a member, always a member. You don't have to partake in a game to maintain a membership with us. Simply let us know in your ToS (of your absence), or visit us on the site here once in awhile. If you choose to pick up a game we are in, you are always welcomed back.
- You are free to play in any chapter (game) of the guild once a member.
- We do require you to use a password to get a guild invite in game. The invite instructions and password are stickied on the members board. Be sure to check for the current password before asking for an invite (it does change).
- Racist, sexist, life choice commentary, and ethnic comments will not be tolerated on vent or in this guild. Religious and political views are not open for discussion in this guild, and are considered Taboo subjects. Aside from game lore.
- We frown on swearing in guild chat and vent, please try to control yourself. It's not disallowed, but please keep it to minimum. We prefer a family friendly chat.
- We play primarily on PvE Servers.
- Games our members enjoy together are not limited to MMO's. We have a Steam group and many play other games with fellow members. Examples incude Minecraft, Left for Dead (1&2), Borderlands, Civilization, and many others.
- Please note that the only restriction on recruits is that they may only have one character guilded in game until member.
- Lead by example. As a Kindred Spirit, ensure your actions reflect well on the guild and yourself.
Treasure
- Our guild philosophy on loot is very simple. My loot is your loot.
- Generosity is expected by all members. Greed is unacceptable.
- Use the Guild treasury forums (or other tools if available) to share and get help with items wanted. Advertise items available or wanted.
- You may not charge, or require trade for any item to another member (Free trade agreement).
- Mains always have priority; please don't save high quality items for your own alt if a main of a guild mate can use it as an upgrade.
- Contributions to a guild bank are expected, only donate what you can, but please contribute.
- Each game has its own slightly varied treasury/banking system; please check with the game you are participating in for full details.
Raiding
- Large Guild raids will generally be announced for sign up purposes.
- Attendance will never be required, but encouraged.
- Always bring a good attitude, patience, and food/pots if you can to a raid.
- Raids will be ran by a raid leader or other selected individuals.
- Loot on large raids will be distributed using an honor system and raid leader discretion (or other individuals).
- Raiding participants that help push the guild into new content and further the guilds progression in games will receive a priority on loot. This is to help the guild progress through this content, so it can be experienced by all.
- We use PHPRaider for Raid sign up purposes.
- Please check the game you participate in for specific details.
- Any arguments about loot or who got what will not be tolerated. You will be promptly removed from raiding, and possibly the guild.
Crafting/Trade Skills
- Materials/Recipes contributed to the guild will be passed on to crafters.
- Guild resources will be used to supply crafters with materials, recipes, and to help them in their chosen craft.
- Crafters in turn will supply the guild with their crafts. If you take materials donated to the guild to produce crafts, you are expected to donate the product back and not sell it for your own profit.
- Material contributions are encouraged for this to work for everyone. Donate that what you don't need for others!
- Please check with the game you participate in for specific details (Materials needed, crafts available, etc).
- The Guild Treasury may also opt to buy or otherwise furnish high end recipes to chosen guild crafters.
