I was thinking of posting this in the YouTube thread, but then I remembered that we had a music thread at some point. A little search later... @. Damn, it's been dead for over a year. Not wanting to /necro :skull: it... New Thread!
That said, (and not wanting to clog the YouTube thread some more) this thread is for the sharing of music and anything related. Please limit posts to 2 videos each.
And so, to start things off (and the reason for rerolling this thread): A cover of my favorite Doors song by one of my favorite bands.
Otep - Not to Touch the Earth (The Doors Cover)

Two very awesome guitar players/vocalists/musicians. If I was stranded on a desert island all I would need for music is one album from each of the (of course if one of those albums could be Joe Bonamassa's live double CD that would be better hehe).
I LOVE THIS PIECE OF MUSIC...this is one of my top three pieces of music every right here. It's beautiful, haunting, soaring, majestic and rockin'...and that is just the 3 minute intro part.
JOE BONAMASSA - Mountain Time
This song is awesome and has a huge sound to it and Monte constantly evolves the song over the years.
Monte Montegomery - River

Nice stuff...had to dig out my old 64 Gibson EB-0 bass ( short scale w Humbucker pick up). Can't play it...the strings are 40 plus years old. Couldn't have played it after so long anyways...wellll, maybe a simple boogie :'(
Looked it up on Eddievegas...the bugger is going for $2350 dollars. SUper condition tho. Mine has some scratches on the back from a to big 60s belt buckle. ! May just polish it up and buy a set of strings and give it another try..bright,buzz and Whumpie sounding sounds, loved it.

...an EB-0...jeezzz...that snatches me back a long ways...was in my first band in '63 as a vocalist, was a horn player at the time and when our bassist quit when he got a gig with a country bar band (he was several years older than the rest of us) i got chosen to "instantly" learn to play bass since i "knew music"...that led to quite some years of guitar playing, bands, and .....well...enough said, i still play after nearly 50 years and have a few amps and guitars about the house...gibbee basses were always my chosen axes when i played bass and my favorite of all was an EB-0 i had for many years...wish i still did have it, much, and $2350 isn't at all steep for a vintage zero...belt buckle scratches and worn finishes or whatever doesn't devalue vintage guitars, in fact i sometimes think the more an old tele or strat looks like it was used to drive fenceposts the more it's worth...it's like provenance...
in any case consider yourself one lucky sucker to have the bass...polish and strings for sure; the things have a huge deep round sound (whumpie? sure.) you don't get with a fender and there's no arguing with the fact that aging does do good things for the sound of instruments...
back to the heart of the thread tho: joe and monte sorta do that to ya, make ya wanna get up and play...there's a lot of that about here what with me being the ancient element and Ryukan keeping me aware of the "newer" (tho that's often a band years old)...
