Add Additional monster(s) joining a fight when the players are already fighting. Such 'additional' mobs often engage the party at inopportune moments. Also, the act of an NPC becoming an add.
AFK Away from Keyboard
Aggro or agro This is the name for the level of aggression a monster has towards any player. The person with the most "aggro" is usually who the Monster will target and persist to attack.
Aggro Range (sometimes Radius) The invisible area around a monster that, when entered, causes the enemy and anything else within the Aggro Range to attack. The radius tends to increase as the monsters become higher level than the player, and vice versa. For example, if the monster's level is trivial compared to the player, they might need to walk very close to the monster for it to attack
AH Auction house, a place where players can sell their weapons and equipments to the highest bidder.
Alt A Player's Alternate Character(s)
Altaholic -(noun) Players with Altaholism.
Anchor -(noun) The target chosen for AoE timed effect. The AoE effect can be either buffing or debuffing. Often debuffing powers lasting a period of time are cast on a particular enemy affecting all enemies around him. That target or the anchor is often kept alive to keep the effect on going. Whereas, buffing effects are placed on the group’s anchor so that all members surrounding the anchor will receive the benefits of the buff.
AOE Area Of Effect. AOE spells are spells that effect multiple targets in a designated area. Spells that are AOE damage the creatures surrounding the initial target of the spell.

AP Attack Power, or a modifier to how much damage a character may cause

BAB Base Attack Bonus
BIO This term refers to someone doing a biological break. (Bio Break), putting it in simple terms, going to the bathroom.
Bind (on equip/use/pickup) Some games bind an item to a specific player so that it cannot be traded to others afterwards. Equip/use will bind the equipment to the player that first uses or equips it, which means it cannot be traded to others in its pristine state. BoP means that the player who picks it up is the only one that can use it from there on.
Binding or Bind Point Some games allow you to bind to a bind Point. This is a place where you start off again after you died, left a quest by teleport or lost connection and re-entered the game.

BOT An illegal program that basically plays the character for you, like an automated robot.
Boxing One player playing more than one account at the same time. Often the number of accounts used is mentioned, e.g., two-boxing, three-boxing (alternate terms for this would probably be dualboxing or tripleboxing)
BS Backstab. An act of attacking from behind, or ambushing someone( guerilla tactics).
Buff A power, inspiration, or enhancement that increases abilities.
Buff bot A character controlled by a software agent, or bot, that is used to enhance the abilities of other players (see buff). They have the bot cast the spells and then leave the bot behind. Since this requires paying for a second account, it is often seen as an elitist luxury.
Build Build refers to the combination of a character's abilities, talents, skills, status, and so on that make them differ from others of the same race and class.

CAE Cone Area Effect. Any effect which targets a cone-shaped area in front of the caster.
Camp An area chosen by a player or group of players in which they will engage mobs. The chosen area is usually safe from undesired mob interference. Usually the only person to leave the camp is the puller. Also used in some games when an enemy player hangs around a slain opponent, waiting for the player to respawn (or resurrect) so they can kill the player again.
Care bear Refers to players who will not engage in player vs player combat if there is any chance of loss involved (gear, vitae, RP loss, etc.) DAoC and WAR would be examples of carebear games. It also refers to a higher level player who follows another around healing them, and clearing away monsters who are too powerful for the lower level player, as opposed to joining the group and mentoring (if the game allows for this). Also could be reference to a healing character i.e. priest, monk, paladin.
Caster Short for "spellcaster"

Class Character class, a character's archetype and career (e.g., fighter, rogue, bard, paladin, necromancer, etc.)

Crit Critical strike/hit/effect, often has the double or triple effect of a non-critical strike/hit/effect.
Crowd control Crowd control is a general set of ability types that involve limiting the actions of others. Such abilities include immobilizing a character, slowing the character's movement, taking control of the character, making the character run away, and others. More specifically it connotes abilities that force a given enemy to disengage, and are often broken if the players attack the mob, but generally have long durations if not broken or dispelled.

CTF Capture the Flag, more of a term for FPS games, but some PvP encounters involve a CTF style of play. Basically you have to get the enemy flag back to your base, whilst defending your own flag.

Emote An action that allows the players to act out feelings, moods, etc. As an example, a typical emote could be that a player wishes to laugh, or to show that he or she is bored, etc.
Exp Experience, also refered as 'xp' at times
Exploit A specific flaw in the game mechanics, system architecture, or world geography to give oneself an advantage over other players, access otherwise hidden or unavailable content, or bypass intended elements of the game design or NPC AI. At all stages of an MMORPG's development and release, making use of exploits for personal gain rather than reporting them to the designers (through whatever channels are provided) is subject to punitive action (usually resulting in the offending player(s') account(s') being banned. One example of an exploit is a 'gold duplicating' bug that appeared early in Ultima Online's release life that allowed the in-game currency to be, in effect, 'counterfeited', thus causing a near-total collapse of the game's economy.

Farming Collecting vast amounts of a certain item or the in-game currency while trying to keep the time exposure effective.
Fed Ex Quest A type of quest that generally follows the patterns : Go to Place A, find Object B and return to quest giver for reward or Take Object B to Place A, and return to quest giver for reward. The term is often used with a negative connotation due to the simple nature of these quests.
FFA Free for all, used to refer to either loot rules (i.e. Greens are FFA so anyone can loot them) or for PvP server types (where anyone can attack anyone)

Flaming Using hostility or cleverly worded insults to put down another's post. Usually a reaction to stupidity, ignorance, or just out of contempt or a desire to build up one's self.
Forum Lurker It a name for someone who only reads forum posts made by others but does not make any posts of their own. This is not really a negative thing, althou it would be nice if all community members contribute to the forums. Example of a Lurker comming out.
FR Flag runner, in a CTF style game, the guy carrying the flag.
FTL For the Loss! simply put, anything that is followed by "FTL" means it is a bad thing.
FTW For The Win, simply put, anything that is followed by "FTW" means it is a good thing

Gank To kill someone (often repeatedly) at an opportune moment to ensure victory or to kill someone of a much lower level
GF This is the one person who orders you around the house. This person is your Boss, there is no room for discussion or compromises. You simply do what you are told to do. This is what you call your Girlfriend.
Gimp Messed up stats, skills, gear. "gimped defense" means weak defense.
Girlfriend/Wife aggro I have to afk NOW (rough translation) In other words, this is the the level of aggression your Girlfriend or Wife has towards YOU!. They think you spend way too much time playing games and should spend more time on her. Some advise: To avoid any injuries or serious damage to you computer, go afk assoon as she comes home or when she starts complaining about you playing some lame videogame again. Grief Hindering another player's quest progression in any way possible.
Grind Gonstantly repeating the same procedure in order to progress through a better part e.g.: fighting the same low level mobs over and over again to get easy combat experience quickly. Can also be used as an adjective, to describe a low quality item or resource.
GTG/G2G Bears a double meaning. got to go (said when a person has to leave) or generally said after a leader of a party or group is ready to begin an event/raid/quest.
Guildy Refering to a fellow member of your guild.

HAX Hacks. This is a term used when someone feels the game is cheating them. Alternatively, this term is used when a fellow player is doing so well that others think he is "cheating with hacks".

Mountain Climbing There are some places people are not allow to be or they simply are unreachable. Like on the top of a tower, or on the ridge of mountains dividing two area's. Some people have found ways to jump to those places. This could also be called: Exploit Exploration WoW Mountain Climbing
Mule Character created only to move or sell items from player to player. They are also good for extra bank space which is limited.
MP Magic points/Mana points, refer to 'SP' as well.

Named Its a Named Mob or Mini Boss. In most games there are fixed places where it will appear but the number of times it does appear is usually random. You sometimes have to repeat the same level or dungeon in the hoop a named mob will appear so that after you killed him he drops that special item.
NDA Non-Disclosure Agreement. It means that beta testers and volunteers cannot give any information to others about what they have seen or may know due their game testing. Nerf To Nerf is to make something less effective.
Newb or Noob or Nab The opposite of 1337. A noob, (or n00b) is of below standard skills.
Ninja A player who doing something bad fast and without being noticed, ninja loot, ninja kill, ninja buy/sell, ninja buff. Ninja can be referred as " to steal"
Ninja Invite someone who "invites" people to his party without asking them if they like to join. In most MMO's its a unwritten rule that you fist give people a /tell before you start sending them party invites.
Ninja loot someone who "steals" loot for personal gain regardless of established group rules (something like that anyway)
NM Never Mind nevermind (or Not Much)
NN Nighty night (good night)
NP no problem, a response to being thanked.

PWN or pwned This means to greatly overpower or defeat an adversary.
PM Private Message. Sending a 'tell' or 'whisper' to a specific player, equivalent to a private conversation.

PT Party.

PK Player killer/killing
PL Power Level. To level as quickly as possible, with outside assistance.
PMTL Play more, talk less. Used when someone is too chatty and interrupting things. Also can be stated, Less talking, more leveling. It's a kind way to say shut up.
