Risa Niigaki, the last of the 5th generation girls of Morning Musume just recently graduated, and now the Sayumi Michishige led girls had their 1st 'live' performance of their upcoming 50th single at a awards show today. It's very K-popish with lots of auto tune, and not the best recording but has a good dance and a beat, and the girls look great! Man, if I didn't already know Kudou was 12(the one with the short hair with the orange color) I never woulda guessed it from watching this video!

It's probably a little too mature of a look for some of these girls, but ah well, that's not uncommon in Japan.

This was pretty cool. Tsunku wrote 2 songs, Because Happiness for Berryz Kobo, and Shiawase no Tochu for C-ute that turned out later to be one song when combined! This is the result:

I was watching Dodger on her Coffee time show and she mentioned this group and how she loved this song, so I thought I'd check it out. Pretty catchy K-pop.

There's a lot of classic Utaban episodes from the early 2000's but youtube always yanks them down quickly, however it appears there's a bunch on Daily Motion, so here's one of my favorites, with the newly joined 4th generation from 2000. With English subs. Takaaki Ishibashi(the tall one) is quite the perv so don't be surprised by some of the zany things he does.

Morning Musume is having their best 1st week of sales for a single in nearly 10 years! It's a good time to be a fan! Here's the other A side of this single.. well the dance shot ver.. we're still expecting a real pv for it at some point, but who knows. I'll replace this with a better quality version when one comes out.

Momusu broke the 100k sells for the 1st week. Could it mean a revival for the group?? Who knows, but it's the best they've done in a very long time for the 1st week.

Anyway, Berryz Kobo released their latest, Cha Cha Sing. It's another fun catchy song from them.

These days there seems to be a million idol groups in Japan and the Super Girls(and Momoiro Clover Z) are probably the chief competition with Morning Musume since all the AKB48 groups pretty much dominate right now. Here's one of if not the best selling single they've had so far. Lot's of cute girls in swim suits.
