Absence
« on: October 27, 2009, 10:17:09 PM »
Hey guys,

A few of you are probably wondering what happened to me.  I had something come up and I had to go to Vegas for a week.  I am back now and have recently started playing fallen earth, awesome indie game by the way.  I am kinda burned out on Aion at the moment, the grinding really started getting to me.  The game is so awesome, until 30 when the quests dry up.  Also the amount of bots to player ratio i was seeing in the higher level areas was like 10 bots:1 player.  So for the moment I will not be continuing my sub with Aion, but i have loved playing with you all and getting to know everyone.  So i will definitley will be staying around in the forums and waiting for something else that everybody will be getting into.  Thanks for inviting me and taking me into the guild.  I appreciate you all.

I was really into this game during the beta, it was pretty enjoyable, but suffered from a good deal of lag and memeory leak. I did think the combat was fairly fun and the crafting was awesome, also I really appreciated the charater skill system instead of a class system. I am tempted to try out the free trial just to see if the finished game is more technically polished than the late beta release.

Sorry to hear that Musu, hopefully after awhile they'll have some of the issues taken care of and you may want to give it another shot.  They are starting to deal with the bots some, but still have a long ways to go as there are still plenty running around in certain spots(Edit:saw a ton of them in Vert tonight, and on every bloody channel... really pisses me off).  I had a feeling many who like to zoom to end game would have a problem with the grind in this game and quit, but it hasn't bothered me too much, and I usually can't stand grinding.  I'm just gonna take my time and get to 50 when I get there.

Fallen Earth was a good crafting game from my beta experience, but it had a lot of problems and felt like it had a very long ways to go before I'd be willing to pay money to play it.  Only MMO's at this point I'm looking at past Aion is Star Wars and possibly the Star Trek one.

I played the beta for fallen earth also, but i must say that it has came a long way.  It is very stable and solid now.  And I am impressed with what they have done in such little time.  I no longer have the memory leak crashes and hardly suffer any lag.  Plus i just got my scoped sub machine gun so..... its fun lol.  I recommend trying the trial that is out right now if your bored.

Ive honestly not had to grind that much,  in the high 20s I did do some grinding. After I hit 30 i've done very little of it.  Between the quests in Heiron, desert part of Elten, and the FT runs I've done.. the lvling has not been too bad.

I could be wrong, but it appears Aion is designed to promote grping in order to get to lvl 50, yea you could do it solo, but i would go insane.

Hopefully the bots will be taken care of soon, they are just everywhere in Heiron.

Dang it Musu get yer butt back in this game. We need some higher lvl dps who know what they are doin, They are working on the problems and many of the quests past 30 are grp oriented. if you feel like returning just yell, I am sure they will take you back in a heartbeat. take some time and relax and youll get that itch to play again. In the meantime, gimme all yer Kinah and mats PLEASE! it is getting freaking expensive   hehehehehe

Take care buddy, and we'll see you soon, I hope

I actually did quite a bit of grouping, i did all the grouping quests i could do, and then it was group grinding which i find more boring then grinding by myself even.  I am sure i will be back one day, but the botting problem in north Heiron really is what did it for me.  I couldnt even find a mob to kill with 4 bots in a minimap area.  If i never come back to aion, then i will be joining whatever other chapter you all start, cause i play everything decent that come out.   :beerchug:

You'll be welcome back anytime Musu, so don't fret about it.  And I do hope you'll at least be there for the anniversary party in DDO.  It should be a fun time.

As far as the grinding goes, I've done a bit here and there, levels 28-30 seemed to be particularly grind intensive for me which was kind of a bummer, but so far after 30 I've found quite a few new quests to get me going again.  Anyhoo, enjoy your time in Fallen Earth, which I found to be fun but way too buggy and unfinished feeling for me to play for any long term.  I might pick it up and give it another try but it's unlikely at this time.

Also remember supposedly in an upcoming patch mobs and I believe quests will give more XP to help lessen the grind some.  Who knows how much of a boost it will be, but anything helps. Also, building up rest xp sure helps too.  Jiji was at maximum rest bonus xp and I was able to get a bubble and a half in a short period of time just grinding on mobs at 36.  I guess that's one of the benefits of having alts.. play an alt a day or so then switch to the main and work the rest xp bonuses.

Sorry to hear you are not going to be playing Aion for now Musu.  I hope you decide to come back and give it a try.  I decided to drop in the forums.  I am in Rome and my hotel here has internet.  Honeymoon has been amazing but I cant(crap, italian keyboard) wait to get back.  I will be back this coming Friday.
